Irregularities worth billions of rupees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board audit report has exposed economic irregularities worth billions of rupees and is risky for our economy. According to the exposure made in the audit report, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Text Board administration sold free government books on the market and manipulated its management to make unfair government book entries in the records.

According to the audit report, Rs. 1,000 crores 75 crores were not deducted from publishers in the form of sales tax, while Rs. one thousand crores 64 crores, were lost to the treasury by publishing more textbooks and Rs. 4 crores to the treasure in terms of books, and it’s a huge loss. The report recommended an investigation with the authority of the Textbook Board and the recovery of the amount.

On the other side, the president of the Textbook Board, Arshad Afridi, says that the audit statement is in the earlier phases/stages but accepts all kinds of inquiries so that the investigation is complete. The president of the Textbook Board says that the audit report presenting to the departmental budgets committee, and if irregularities are present, then take action will be without delay.
