Apple recently updated its AirPod model with the third-generation AirPod, but we haven’t seen any new Pro models yet. Previous Lex had suggested launching last year and this year as well, but there is no explanation from the company. Ahead of the official confirmation, prominent Apple analyst and Bloomberg’s Mark Gorman suggested that the new AirPod Pro (2nd generation) will launch this year, though it may not have the expected health feature.

The latest report from him claims that the AirPod Pro (2nd generation) will not have a heart rate or body temperature sensor. This information contradicts their previous report from June 2021, which stated the possibility of heart rate censorship. He later reversed his forecast in January of this year but resurfaced in April.

Heart rate sensing isn’t new to wireless earbuds, and this feature is available on select products like the Jabra Elite Sport Airbus and Amazon Power Buds. The idea behind the option is that users can listen to music and then monitor their heart rate through the compatible app.

Apple has recently been betting heavily on fitness features during the global COVID epidemic. With a heart rate sensor on AirPods Pro (2nd generation), it aims to outperform its rivals. However, it will be interesting to see how Apple promotes the new generation model since the old AirPods Pro already offer excellent performance.

Meanwhile, Grumman claims that this year’s Apple Watch Series 8 will have a body sensor to monitor body temperature. It may be a warning to consumers in case of a fever. The report further claims that the Apple Watch Series 8 will get the S8 chipset, which is said to be equivalent to the S7 chipset in the Watch Series 7. It means that the S8 will be roughly the same as the S6 in the Watch 6.
