Identification of Dangerous Items Through X-Rays is Now Possible

With a new technique, British experts have made 100% detection of dangerous items possible. While some explosives are challenging to find using conventional X-rays, the new technique may completely change how unlawful objects, including drugs, animals, and explosives, can be easily found. The discoveries, according to the researchers, could help both industry and health and have significant safety implications.

Lead author Sandro Olivo, a University College London professor of medical physics and biomedical engineering, said, “It’s a distinct approach to studying materials by assessing their surfaces that provides a new way to identify unlawful drugs.”

He claims that small bent X-rays are always present but invisible in conventional X-ray systems, allowing us to access previously invisible information.
