WhatsApp Announces to Introduce New Communities Feature

Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp is going to introduce new feature communities. This feature of Communities will be for public use at the end of this year. WhatsApp helps people get the best thing when they want to talk to an individual or a group of friends or family.

Zuckerberg wrote in his post regarding the ‘Communities’ feature that similar kinds of different WhatsApp groups would be in the same community to make communication better and more helpful. People can communicate far better than earlier by keeping several WhatsApp groups of the same type in the same community.

For example, a “school community” can bring together all the groups and individuals who belong to different classes and departments of a particular school. This community feature will help with general announcements by uniting the several departments of the school with the community.

The Communities feature on WhatsApp will enable people to combine different groups under one umbrella with a structure that works for them. Users can get updates sent to the whole community and easily organize small discussion groups that are important to them.

Meta also said that the communities are inherently private and will continue to protect messages with end-to-end encryption. He says: “Closed groups – schools, religious groups, even businesses – want more and need to be able to communicate securely and privately without having to monitor every word of WhatsApp.”

According to reports, Meta (formerly Facebook) has been working on the WhatsApp community feature for several years but took a long time to introduce this feature ‘communities’ due to some difficulties. The new feature will roll out in select countries in the coming months before rolling out globally.
